Water Flow

Our Water Flow Gallery allows children and families to engage in splashy water adventures throughout the five different interactive water stations that explore whirlpools, waterways, fountains, stream dynamics, and more!

How adults Can support Discovery, Creativity, Exploration, and play in water flow

  • Encourage exploration by asking open-ended questions about what they observe and experience

    • How does the water feel in your hands? Is it warm or cold?

    • Do you see any patterns in how the water moves or behaves?

    • What do you think will happen if we try this?

  • Relate the Water Flow exhibit to everyday experiences!

    • How is this similar to bath time, the rain, the ocean, etc., how is it different?

  • Encourage them to reflect on their experiences!

    • What was your favorite thing we did today and why?

    • What did you learn today?

  • Talk about the importance of water and about all the different sources of water that we have in North Dakota!
